I’m Rick Taylar.

I spent years trapped in the same cycle you’re in.

Keto failed. Paleo failed. And willpower burned out fastest of all. Every diet ended the same way: short-term results, long-term shame, and an invisible hand pushing me back toward food I didn’t need.

The breakthrough came when I stopped fighting my body and started reprogramming my brain.

I’d been running faulty mental software for years. When I shifted WHO I WAS instead of WHAT I ATE, the food noise went quiet. Not because I found more discipline. Because I didn’t need it.

After 20+ years as a counselor and coach, I built The Weight Loss Mindset to lead others out of that trap.


Here’s what I believe:

Your weight is controlled by identity.

There’s an internal thermostat set by years of beliefs, patterns, and mental programming. It determines where your body stays. Every diet is like opening windows in winter. The thermostat always wins.

You can’t outrun it. You have to reset it.

That’s what this work is about.
